Hello Tricia, You are the first person I have heard of who also had a relative on the Bombala. I have a copy of Leading Seaman Leadley's report (one of the survivors) in which he lists the names of those men who were in the lifeboat with him, whether they died at sea or later on the beach, and also the names of those (that he knows of) who were killed on board the Bombala. Your great uncle's name is not among these names and neither is my great-uncle's name. We have to presume that it's more than likely they were both in the "Captain's" lifeboat (my great-uncle), which is the lifeboat that disappeared without further trace.
