I am trying to find anything regarding HMS Kent and its crew and role in the battle of the Falklands. Amongst some documents of my grandfathers I found an envelope with notes and reference to a local newspaper however no story was published. The notes mention HMS Kent and the battle and persuit of a KMS cruiser and indicates my great grandfather was serving aboard during this time. The very partial records i managed to get out of Kew state he was assigned to HMS Victory at the time and I am led to believe that this indicates portsmouth naval base but that this is quite commonly shown even when a person is assigned to a ship. I know he was a reservist and was called up at the start of the war and he was an Engineman at some point so he may have been a stoker before that.
Can any one out there point me in the direction of some accounts of this action and kent's role in this and does anyone have any photos etc of kents crew especialy engineering side.
