Dear Blaydon
Go to amazon.co.uk go to Books,in Search window type The Enemy Fought Splendidly. The KENT's Surgeon wrote this splendid narrative, not only of KENT's part in the Nurnberg and Dresden actions, but of general shipboard life of that time - buy it !
Also go to Google, in search window type HMS KENT: Midshipman EH Cowan Papers. Go for the entry headed HMS KENT - 1914-18. Midshipmen EH Cowan and FE Valentine seem to have spent their wartime on the KENT armed only with their cameras, their entire photo albums of life aboard KENT throughout the Falklands period are online here and available, I seem to remember they include a division of Scotsmen.
Have been researching all the KENTs for many moons now, so will be happy to help further if needed.
Best of luck. Ray
