A bit more information on him George May born 24 oct 1883 Fraserburgh Scotland
Served RNR enrolled 29 Nov 1904, Mobilized 3 Aug 1914.
date and port of dispatch 3 Aug 1914 Kirkwall

HMS Kent 4 Aug 1914 to 9 Oct 1914
HMS Victory 10 Aug 1914 to 30 Dec 1916
HMS Kent 31 Dec 1916 to 10 Jun 1918
HMS Victory 11 Jun 1918 to 13 Mar 1919

Date of release 13 Mar 1919
Cause of release Invalided

Ratings held
Stoker 3 Aug 1914 to 22 Sep 1918
Engineman 23 Sep 1918 to 13 Mar 1919

The document also states that despite the above he was seving aboard HMS Kent during action against the SMS Nurnberg on 8 Dec 1914 and Dresden on 14 Mar 1915.

I suppose the problem I have is I live in the north of scotland and don't have the money to hire a researcher or to travel to Kew myself.
