Hi Iam doing some research into the sinking of a steamer called the Bray Head en route from Newfoundland to Belfast in March 1917. A relative of mine was killed when the ship was sunk by U 44. The crew were put into open boats and the ship was sunk by gun fire. One of the boats later foundered and 21 men were lost including the skipper.
I have been wondering if there would be any information, reports, accounts of the sinking in German archives. Does anyone know if this is the case and if so I would be very grateful for information on contact addresses, websites etc Thanks.
This is my first post. Congratulations on a fantastic site.
