Donald,

Unsuccessful actions involving U-boats in World War I generally haven't been attributed out. That said, it can be done. I have most of the KTBs on microfilm and would be willing to take a look.

I do need to know in as much detail as possible what it is that I'm looking for. Specific times, specific locations, and specific descriptions of the actions are all very helpful.

On WHEATEAR, BVLAS gives the location as "Irish Channel" (=Irish Sea). UB 65 was quite gun-happy and operating in that area. however, if the true location is north of Ireland, then she's not a candidate.

ALBION 3 could be even more of a challenge. How big was she? Was she acting as a convoy escort when teh torpedo missed?

Best wishes,
Michael
