Michael,

The information that I have is that "Wheatear" sighted a submarine west of Rathlin at about 1615 on 5th may 1918. She fired two shots at it and the submarine submerged. The submarine reappeared and opened fire on "Wheatear". "Wheatear" then ran for Portrush, laying smoke and keeping up a running fight for 6 or 7 miles.

"Albion3" escorted most of the OB Convoys out of Lamlash and through the North Channel to the handover point. On this occasion she was returning from escort duty, at 2025 1st May 1918 in position Lat 55.37N Long. 7.11W, when a torpedo was spotted. She took evasive action, the torpedo missed and "Albion 3" then dropped depth charges. The submarine reappeared later and unsuccessfully attacked one of the Buncrana trawlers.
I'm afraid I cant give you "Albion3"'s size tonight, but I can check that for you tomorrow.
