I have the KTB as a digital version.

KTB S.M. U 39: 16:40 Uhr italienisches bewaffnetes Wachboot "Y 4", 250 t, unter Feuer genommen, Mannschaft verläßt nach Treffer den Dampfer, der Versuch, das neue 4,6 cm-Geschütz von der Back abzumontieren, mußte wegen Dunkelheit und Seegangs aufgegeben werden.

Forstmann wasn't aware of the true identity of his victim. There was no interrogation of the crew.
