Most torpedoes today have top speeds little better then those of
the past. The American MARK 46 torpedo, for example has
a speed of 40 knots which is just less than that of the ex-Soviet
Alfa & Akula classes. In general terms, the capabilities of torpedos
have tended to lag behind those of the sonars that acquire their
targets; they are slow. lacking in range, noisy and most times they
are unreliable when fired from a sub.
Hope this answers your question? I'm not sure about the depleted
of uranium in the warhead of these modern torpedes?
I think Cruise Missiles & Ballistic Missiles are the ones that do.!
