<HTML>The primary use for depleted uranium is in anti-tank artillery. Extremely dense and very hard, etc. It really wouldn't be of much use in anything as slow as a torpedo, since DU rounds depend on impact speed. No explosives involved, other than the propellant.
Modern torpedoes are actually slower than WWII Allied types. The Type 14 would do 45 knots on the high speed setting. Electrics never were very fast.
And, strictly speaking, all torpedoes have always been sub-sonic. 45 knots is definitely below the speed of sound, even in water.
