<HTML>Hello There,

Earlier this year I met a survivor of U569 - he lives in Arizona. I am also in touch with some members of the USS Bogue (Bill Glenzer). The survivor, Helmut, was landed along with his shipmates from HMCS St. Laurent, at Argentia in Newfoundland but for some reason or other Helmut, who was wounded, was sent to the UK eventually ending up in Camp 21 in Comrie, Perthshire,Scotland. I was wondering if you knew where in the US the other POW's were sent?

BTW - The chief engineer died but the captain Hans Johnansen survived.

It is rather odd that very litle has been said about this particular UBoat - Being caught out in the open was suspicious and I suspect also it may have surrendered too quickly!? According the statements of the survivors they were very low on morale.

Regards
