<HTML>No, Antonio! The U-505 was captured by the USS GUADALCANAL (CVE-60), an "escort" type carrier. The GUADALCANAL actully attempted to tow the u-boat to Bermuda, but the job was eventually completed by the fleet tug USS ABANAKI.

Also, a long time contributor to this Forum, Don Baker, was in the crew of the GUADALCANAL. Don, where are you?
