I am not a metallurgist, but think you a close. Somehow 80,000 PSI sticks in my mind - do not remember where I got it from. What do you have re further details?
I recall the hulls of the VIIc/41-42 same steel, just 2mm thicker. By the way, even the older VIIc\'s routinely dove to 200m. Rgds, RB </HTML>
