Thanks for elaborating. While IKL probably did most of the detail design and drawings, I understood TNE was making the initial studies, market analysis and conceptual design drawings in the early seventies for their own account. Once potential interest was drummed up, IKL became more involved. That\'s why I termed them lead designers. No intend on my part to curtail IKL\'s contribution.
Remember, TNE (and German Shipbuilders) were particularly hard hit by declining freight indexes, declining dollar, increasing German Mark and Wages. All the yards were scrambling to build value added (speak expensive projects), since they were rapidly becoming uncompetitive. TNE sought their salvation in military vessels. HDW was too big to do so exclusively. Rgds, RB</HTML>
