I\'ve heard of accounts of U-boats continuing with deck guns, etc., as firing at survivors, while in fact, they were simply firing into the hull of the ship to help sink her. Torpedoes were expensive and in limited supply when other means could help fill a ship with water just as well....
I find an account of machine-gunning spread-out survivors splashing about in the water to be very suspect....
Further, I don\'t believe it.

Waste of fuel and ammo after a primary target was already taken out...number one. And Luftwaffe pilots were usually quite honorable in conduct as well...number two. I\'d need good proof of any other action.... </HTML>
