Hi Joe G.!

According to Kelshall´s "The U-boat War in the Caribbean" the last u-boats that arrived and patrolled in this area were
U539 (Mai-Jul 1944 / Kptlt. Lauterbach-Emden)
U516 (Jun-Jul 1944 / Kptlt. Hans-Rutger Tillessen) and
U530 (Jul-Aug 1944 / Kptlt. Kurt Lange).

Lauterbach-Emden (U539) sank the merchant ship Pillory near Puerto Rico (Jun 04.) before heading for Curacao and Aruba, but strong ASW forced him to make way for Panama, where he damaged the tankers Kittaning and Hollywood (Jul 04) 30 sm off Point San Blas.
U516 sank the the Tanker Esso Harrisburg (Jul 06) 75 south off Beata Point, Hispaniola. This was the last ship lost in the Caribbean Sea.
U530 was patrolling north-east of Trinidad and Curacao, but didn´t sink any ships.

I hope this helps

Best regards

Jan
