<HTML>Only one of the X-Craft was lost during the tow, the other two were scuttled. It is conjectured that the transit crew had the X-craft in negative trim, as they were known to tow better that way. When in positive trim, they beat from side to side. When the tow broke, the boat could have gone below crush depth before the crew could catch it.</HTML>
