<HTML>Hi Kurt,
1.) You must be aware reading my previous sparadic comments on Eck, that I am sick of his dishonorable action. Well, he paid for it, and never mind wether the behavior was in or out of bounds of accepted standards.
2.) Actions by Japanese with different concept about morals and personal conduct, should not be the detemining factor, how we conduct ourselves.
3.) A surviving Peleus crew could contribute to the war effort just as well in their specialty as Japanese Soldiers to theirs.
4.) MM decision to subdue resistance is defensible, subsequent whole sale slaughter is not!
I continue to be amazed by the American rationalization about the comparative harshness of the Pacific War and the alledged neccessety to adjust their own conduct accordingly. My answer to that: We got too many lawyers in this country! Rgds, RB</HTML>
