Sorry for moving off the subject...just a bit... I am very interested in the mines laid by U21 in the Forth, as you know her mines badly damaged HMS Belfast, and sunk the SS Royal Archer, HMS Bayonet and (indirectly) two Hampden bombers!.
Having plotted these positions there are several other victims of mines who went down within a few months of U21 laying her mines, so any info on the Minefield, or how long these mines would remain active would be very helpful.

U21 penetrated quite far up the Forth which is quite an achievement, and an indictment of how much had been forgotten from the lessons learnt in WW1.

I think U21's mines probably accounted for more ships than she was officially credited with.
Any help appreciated
