Her sole remaining moment of glory was on 5 May 1941 when Hitler toured the U-boat as part of an inspection visit to Gotenhafen. This was probably only the second time that Hitler, who suffered from violent seasickness, had set foot aboard a submarine (Hitler had inspected the ‘Weddigen’ Flotilla when the unit was still embryonic, touring U7’s interior).
