Dear Friends:
Last week I went on vacation to San Francisco, CA and found near Pier 39 the USS Pampanito sub. This got me thinking about the use of the "snorkel" on german U-Boats to help stay sumerge for longer times. Did any tipe of US submarines use or adapt this snorkel system?
Tell me what do you all think of this:
Is it wrong to call a US submarine U-Boat? Since the term U-Boat comes from the first german vessels of WWI, right? I always thought this: German: U-boat and US: submarines, just to keep it more real........
Regards
Juan
