Thank you for you answers Dan and Paul, is so nice to talk with people who know this much information about U-Boats.

Paul: you were stationed at the Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth, NH, 1946-1947?? Man, for me is an honor to talk to someone that knew, live, smell and saw all this in that years. Just the thought of seen the U-2513, U-3008 like brand new gives me ghossebumps!!!

Just last week I was very exited to see the USS Pampanito/SS383 in San Francisco Bay, I can imagine the feel in those years with the US and german u-boats. By the way, do you or anyone know the class of the Pampanito, I think is a Balao class right?.

Last year I travel to Oahu, Hawaii and saw in Pearl Harbor the USS Bowfin/SS-287, can you belive this was the first sub I saw in my life. Here in Guatemala, Central America we don´t have many subs near by, ja ja ja ja ja!!!! I really love the nick name of the Bowfin: "The Pearl Harbor Avenger"
