Hi Jukka,
Thanks for the info.
I don’t know if I have ever read anything published by that publisher so I have no way to compare them with Jak Showell’s work but I have always found Showell’s work to be excellent. I own more than a dozen of his books and several things edited by him and I have always found the photos excellent (many come from the U-boot Archiv) and the text to be accurate. I highly recommend his work so if this book is better in any way it would be quite a pleasant surprise and might indeed be worth a premium (-:
In going through the library at the U-boot Archiv the last time I was there I did notice that some of the French books in the library did contain some U-boat photos I had not seen before though. I have no idea how to do U-boat research in France (which archives have U-boat photo collections & the procedure for contacting them, what can be ordered & whether or not they will do any research for you like the American National Archives will do etc.) and as I don’t speak French I haven’t tried to find out. Do you have any suggestions? I have a specific interest in U-126 and photos of her are really scarce.
Regards,
Ken Dunn
