Looking at the pics on www.atlantik-pirat.com I feel very saddened to see that such a wonderful craft will end up in 4 bits, no, not sections just four bits of a U-boat. Bow and stern near each other and not even in a straight line with the midships cut into two parts and placed to one side. Is it not possible to put all the sections in a line so that at least she will look like a U-boat and not just four bits of what could be a submarine or anything for that matter.

She will loose all dignity and her soul will be destroyed. Perhaps it might be better to take her out to sea and let her slip quietly beneath the waves in a dignified manner.

Future generations would have to live with what is left in film and photograph.

A a total of 3971 people from around the world signed the petition, which has now closed, but I for one don't expect my government to do anything about it. They care little for military history and even less for our brave troops who are at this very moment creating it.
