interesting point patw. johannsen was, i believe, one of the few "obermaschinistas" to win the coveted knights cross. strangely another was heinz prassdorf the very man mentioned in paul's recent request. it is always subjective when real people and real events are woven into works of fiction however i hope you will agree that, on balance, Petersen did a praiseworthy job. thanks for your thoughts, schalke.
