Hi MPC,

Regarding the first known case of a sub sinking another... What about U 27 and HMS/m E.3 encounter on 18 October 1914?

There is another good source on that subject and namely "The Hunter Hunted" by Robert C. Stern. "U-Boote im Duell" by Harald Bendert has some rather good photos, but the narrative is somewhat lacking.
