My father was on the Lapwing when it was torpedoed in September 1941. His name is missing from the crew list which says 34 were aboard and there 32 names available. He used to tell us as kids, about the lifeboat that he was aboard when it landed in Clifden, Ireland, specifically mentioning Pimental and Da Silva.
I have tried numerous times to have his name added to the crew list, to no avail. Can anyone suggest where I might try. He was 17 at the time. Thomas Campbell, son of Elizabeth and William Campbell, born 28/01/2024 in Liverpool. His job was fireman or trimmer. He married my mother in 1943 and they went on to have 11 children, of which I am 3rd oldest.
