<HTML>Possibility is that W. R. I. C were a man\'s initials; ie, many Germans (years ago) had more than one middle name. Example: Willhelm Robert Irwin Christoph(er)? although names with \"C\" are few. I thought about the I and C possibly denoting 1st Class but it would be 1ste (erste) Klasse. My uniforms, underwear, etc. were all marked \"F-6081\" for I.D.; hankerchieves also! This was not an option but required by the army.</HTML>
