Hi Solan,

The date given is between December 1943 and February 1944 and I can confirm that no submarine was used in a special operation in the North Sea or Norwegian Sea during this period. The travel time of 20 hours is highly suspicious as it would take at least a couple of days. If this was a submarine clandestine mission it would probably in Central or Northern Norway. Submarines were too valuable to be used for missions in southern Norway or Sweden. Either fishing vessels (Shetland Bus) or MGBs could have been used, landing in Norway and crossing to Sweden if required. It is rather surprising that the author cannot give us a more precise date.

Best regards,

Platon
