<HTML>I have the 209 minute (3 hours, 29 minutes) directors cut in German with English subtitles. These vhs tapes include an additional ? minutes showing some of methods used to make the film and other items. Personally, I liked the German voice / English sub-titles (many minor errors) that I saw in the movies when the film was first shown in the US. I\'ve seen this version both in German and English voice several more times. I found the longer version drawn out and was bored with it after about 150 minutes. I did enjoy the add-on short about the movies making.

Perhaps Encore is showing this version plus another short about the director - this would take about 4 1/2 hours. Make sure you gave a case of cool beer handy - it will help wake up your Germanic genes and make the flick more enjoyable.
