A Bridge Too Far

<HTML>Dear shipmates.

Another Bank Holiday has come & gone, with the usual films dragged out for the umpteenth time. Though I did make a point of taping \" ABridge Too Far\".

This film does have its critics, mainly pointing out that the plot suffers due to there being too many big names appearing. This may well be the case. The thing that makes the film appeal to me is that all of the protagonists are sympathetically portrayed (something Spielberg would do well to note) with a good mix of humour and tragedy.

It is also notable for sticking quite closely to the original book, though for purposes of keeping the plot up to speed, certain original characters have been amalgamated. This, however, does not detract from the overall film.

What does the panel think?</HTML>
