I asked my former CO of the USS VON STEUBEN (SSBN-632) if he had any stress
concerning the actual launch of our 16 POLARIS A3 tactical missiles on a
deterrent patrol, and he stated that following a launch order (received via coded message on the floating-wire antenna), was what the Commander-in-Chief expects of his submarine commanders, and stress if any, never entered the picture. If he can;t follow orders, then he should be canned.
Still haven't got the "CRIMSON TIDE" video; will try again today.
