<HTML>Why did Mitchum blow up his destroyer? He should have been court martialed for such an act.
The U-boat commander would never had surfaced against a destroyer, even a wounded one. He should have just put another fish into the destroyer and been done with it.
The story is very unlikely tale.</HTML>
