Thanks for your wishes. Yep, it is time to return to important things! :-)
Whilst I was looking on the L-W-photos from you in ebay a question is coming up, whereas you as the expert may can help.

In the picture books there were some photos from LGB taken in Norway. As I can remember he is also mentioning this in "Der Abschied" that LGB visited L-W there in (only!!!) one sentence.

Now, this is very uncommon to the style of LGB. I thought he has more or less described everything u-boat related in his novelles and this chapter of his real life is (more or less) completly unrecorded?!

If the timescale in "Die Festung" is right (and also when we take in mind when L-W escaped from Brest)this journey must have been taken place in the beginning of 1945.

To that time a travel to Norway (on a ship or in an airplane) and LGB does not write about that??? The journey itself must be an adventure with total air superiorty of the Allies and even the ship tour via Denmark to Norway is today with the fast fairy ships at more than 3 hours..... (A quit unpleasant journey which would have happend at night for sure and much more time....)

Then LGB in Norway? For what reason? How did he manage to get approval for the travel? And what the heck did he do there?

Was he always in the footsteps of L-W? Following his novels and his books he must have followed L-W like a dog follows his master from the boat to Brest to Norway...........
BTW: How did they met for the first time? And how did their friendship came up?

A lot of questionmarks in this post, uh? :-)
