bradley hunter-mann, et al:
Advisors were:
Vice Admiral Parick Hannifin, whose first assignment in the U.S. Navy was as an Ensign assigned to the S-33; he served almost 35
years in the Submarine Force. He was also the Chief Officer aboard a captured German U-boat, spending a lot of time learning how it operated and figuring out is systems. (Type XXI maybe?)
Captain Hans-Joachim Krug, was actually 1st officer of U-219. Due to his experience both in U-boats and later as a cameraman,
he also servrd asa a consultant during the making of "Das Boot."
LCDR Balme of the Brirish Royal Navy, who retrieved an "Enigma"
code machine fro U-110 in 1941, while serving on the HMS BULLDOG.
Historian David Kahn, considered the world's expert on the Enigma.
U.S, Navy CAPT Ernest Till advised on story content.
CAPT Lance JULIAN, who worked on "TITANIC," was the film's marine consultant, reponsible for the movement of all boats and the crew.
A core group of real life WWII submarine veterans.
Now you would think that with all this "horsepower" a much better
production of "U-571" should have evolved.
To view archivist (at the National Archives and Records Administra- tion (NARA)), Tim Mulligan's "U-571" film revue, go to:
