Sorry to say but the picture shows a "" U-Boat"" that never excisted. It looks mostly on a german vessel apart from the strange apparatus on top.
Floodholewise it could be a derivate from a type VII or even a type II as do the saddle tanks. The type IX did not have such saddle tanks. The deckgun position is also a german feature. All in all it's certainly NOT a brittish sub from WW II and also not a German.
Beside the appaling script of U-571 they did have the curtacy to show a "real" type VII sub in the movie.
