I think some of you are missing the point here. Ghostboat is purely a fictional tale and it should not be taken out of that context. The fact that the submarine used is a mixture of German and British design is irrevelant and does not impact on the story in any way (would the average person in the street know the difference?). The same goes for the Soviets technical ability. If the story was based on factual events (eg like the movie U-571) then I can understand people making these kind of observations but for a programme that is pure fiction they don't really hold any water.
