Great set of photographs! It very hard to tell but the shape of the bow does not look like the Atlantic bow. I think I saw the same fish several time

I believe no, only boats after Mid 1943 got the Atlantic bow.

It very unlikely that U-352 had an Atlantic bow as she was sunk before 1943’s when I believe the Type VIIC’s started getting the Atlantic bow. If you have a good picture of U-352 you can check for yourself. The pink outline is the Type VIIC and the green outline is the Atlantic Bow. Above you can see the bow casting section. This is the section they would had alternated for the Atlan

I was wondering if anyone has any war time pictures of the electric motors on the Type VIIC’s? I am after pictures of the electric motors serial plates. The original serial plates on U-995 have been remove :-(

Do you know the Type VIIC/41’s numbers that had a deckgun? As I have always wonder if the deck gun mounting was added to Type VIIC/41’s that were build after the late 44’s.

Is the UZO mounting tower position slightly off the centreline of the U-boat to Port? I have always believe it was position on the centreline of the U-boat, but I have two war time photographs of U-586 & U-765 and the pictures clearly show the UZO mounting tower slightly position off the centreline.

Hi Iceonaboy You can used the other forums and ask around for your question. I have not completed a model myself (But I am working on U-1308). I believe most people building either late war Type VIIC or VIIC/41 are doing a lot of fabrication. I also believe the Revell VIIC/41 is become rarer, if you want one your better bet would be to watch eBay. Simon

Most of the bow on U-995 was replace during the 80's (due to rust - I believe). They did a very poor job of it and just recover the whole bow

I have not seen the pictures of U 977 but the pipes you are talking about sound like the 'Air Inlet Tank Line'. I was also thinking if there was anything within the tube on U-505 there must be a USN report of it. Source: U-1308 Type VIIC/41

Hi Ken Sorry, forgot to check for the 37 mm, but I would say all late war Type VIIC's had a 37 mm. Simon

U-1023 had a schnokel and I am not sure U-1306 but I am almost sure it would.

I just noticed that U-1023 and U-1306 (tube is horizontal) had a tube also. It seems they were common for the late war Type VIIC/41 so I will add one for my U-1308

One thing that makes my think about the spare AA gun barrel is ‘why’. Why carry a spare gun barrel surely the lifespan of a gun barrel was longer than the number of rounds carried onboard a U-boat per trip.

I have not see any wider views of the Conning Tower. Its very hard to get wide views as the Conning Tower is so small.

Are you after pictures of the inside of the Conning Tower? Here a few pictures of U-570 (Photo 7 to 9) Or if you are looking for the framing support around the Conning Tower, let me know. Simon

Hi Don Thanks, for the kind words about my drawing. I have been thinking of a book or posters. I original thought I could finish it in two or three years (I only have time to work on it in the summer months, as in the winter I am way to busy). But lately I am thinking it may take longer. I am spending more time on the drawing but doing less drawing! For me it so important to make the drawin
