36° 51'N, 26° 19'EAt 0245 hours, Atropo was proceeding on the surface with her electric motors, when a submarine was sighted proceeding on the surface at 11 knots. Two bow (533mm) torpedoes were fired at a distance of 1,100 metres (only two forward tubes were loaded). They missed.

The target was the French submarine Achéron (Capitaine de corvette Jean Joseph Marie Alliou) returning to Beirut after a patrol off Leros.
