Model Details:

Revell skill rating: 3 (easy-moderate 30 to 100 parts)
This model is very easy and fast to assemble. You don't need much time or colors to finish this kit. If you want a more complex kit with more details I recommend the U-47 plastic kit from Revell with 124 parts showing the famous boat of G?nther Prien. It gives you details of the inside of a type VIIB uboat.
Back to this model kit.
The hull of U-99 is made out of two parts as well as the deck of the uboat and fit very well together.
All in all you find 41 parts in light grey color.
The tower of U-99 has quite some details, including the periscope and antennas. As it is an early pattern, there is no Schnorchel, radar or the extended anti aircraft fire power of the later VIIV boats.
Details include one 20mm anti aircraft gun and the famous 80mm cannon used quite successfully in the early years of the war.
The U-99 kit seems to be a quite exact model of the original VIIB type.
This model is not motorizable but really nice for display.
