| Notes on event | At 17.12 hours on 18 Nov 1943 the Empire Dunstan (Master Norman Ramsay) in convoy AH-9 was hit by one of two torpedoes from U-81, broke in two and sank after 20 minutes southwest of Taranto. Two crew members were lost. The master, 29 crew members, seven gunners and three passengers were picked up by the Norwegian steam merchant Lom and landed at Taranto. | ||
