History

The Royal Navy assigned this ship as an aircraft direction frigate. She was the only frigate in WW2 fitted as such. The intention was to send Caicos to the Indian Ocean but she operated in the North Sea to detect Nazi V-1 cruise missiles ('buzz bombs') aimed at Britain.

HMS Caicos is not listed as active unit in the October 1945 Navy List

Returned to the USN on 12 December 1945.
