In position 08º39'N, 58º46'W USS PC-576 picks up three survivors from the Dutch passenger ship Zaandam that was torpedoed and sunk on 2 November 1942 !!! by the German submarine U-174 about 300 miles north of Cape Sao Roque, Brazil in position 01º25'N, 36º22'W. (see map)
