Proteus (Lt.Cdr. Hadjiconstantis) was rammed and sunk by the Italian torpedo boat Antares in the southern Adriatic some 40 miles east of Brindisi, Italy.

Proteus (Lt.Cdr. Hadjiconstantis) torpedoed and sank the Italian troop transport Sardegna (11452 GRT) in the southern Adriatic some 40 miles east of Brindisi, Italy in position 40°31'N, 19°02'E. Proteus is sunk immediately after this attack.
