Minesweeper USS Owl (AM 2)
5 May 1942
The Canadian passenger ship Lady Drake is torpedoed and sunk about 90 miles north of Bermuda in position 35°43'N, 64°43'W by German U-boat U-106. The US minesweeper USS Owl later picks up 256 survivors.
7 Aug 1942
USS Owl picks up 13 survivors from the Uruguayan merchant Maldonado that was torpedoed and sunk by the German U-boat U-510 on the 2 August about 250 miles south-southeast of Bermuda.
