Career information
Born September 7 1900 in Lucknow India, 1st saw service as Midshipman at battle of Jutland WW1, joined Hydrographic division,surveyed in Labrador,Middle East and British Isles.At start of WW2 was on survey duties.By 1943 was sent to Leros in the Aegean to assist with Allied defenses.Was captured when German forces took over the island. Interned in Kriegsmarine Prison Camp until end of war. Returned to survey duties after war,and in 1952 was commander of led ship for the Queens Coronation Spithead Review. Retired 1953, died 1983 at North Curry Somerset.
