HMS Armeria (A/T/Lt.Cdr. H.N. Russell, DSC, RNR) picks up 11 survivors from the British merchant P.L.M. 22 that was torpedoed and sunk the previous day by German U-boat U-123 west-southwest of the Canary Islands in position 25°43'N, 22°47'W. In addition HMS Armenia picked up about 100 additional survivors from other ships of the convoy and took them to other escorts of directly to Freetown (Sierra Leone).
