USS Skipjack (Lt.Cdr. Richard S. Andrews) left Pearl Harbor for her 10th and final war patrol. She was ordered to patrol off the Kuril Islands.

14 Nov 1944 (position 46.40, 151.40)
USS Skipjack (Lt.Cdr. R.S. Andrews) damaged the Japanese motor sail ship Tatsu Maru No.6 off Shimushiru, Kuril Islands in position 46°40'N, 151°40'E. Strong currents then drive the damaged vessel upon a reef. She was beyond salvage.

11 Dec 1944
USS Skipjack (Lt.Cdr. R.S. Andrews) ended her 10th and final war patrol at Midway. She was now retired to training duties.

26 Apr 1945
USS Plaice (Cdr. R.S. Andrews) departed from Midway for her 5th war patrol. She was ordered to patrol in the Sea of Okhotsk.

13 May 1945 (position 45.30, 147.04)
USS Plaice (Cdr. R.S. Andrews) sank four small Japanese vessels with gunfire off the Kuril Islands in position 45°30'N, 147°04'E. Several other vessels were damaged.

13 Jun 1945
USS Plaice (Cdr. R.S. Andrews) ended her 5th war patrol at Pearl Harbor.

18 Jul 1945
USS Plaice (Cdr. R.S. Andrews) departed from Pearl Harbor for her 6th war patrol. She was ordered to patrol in the East China Sea.

31 Jul 1945
USS Plaice (Cdr. R.S. Andrews) topped up with fuel at Saipan. She departed from for her patrol area on August 2nd.

24 Aug 1945
USS Plaice (Cdr. R.S. Andrews) ended her 6th war patrol at Midway.
