Career information
Wing-Commander C.R.Dane RN: new Commanding Officer of RNAS Chingford (10) he left Chingford after eight months to command a destroyer.
He was President of Annual Sports, 1917 he attended Mr Titheradge's concert and the knock-out soccer final. He was described as an officer and sportsman who always took a keen interest in anything likely to improve the social welfare of the aerodrome. He always gave a fair hearing to request-men and defaulters.

HMS Maloja (Capt. (retired) C.R. Dane, RN) intercepts the German merchant La Coruna (7359 GRT) south-east of Iceland in position 63°00'N, 10°20'W. However before the German ship can be captured she is scuttled by her own crew.
