Career information
He was born in Scarborough, Yorkshire, on 19th February 1894, and died in Aberdeen on 3rd April 1961. Both John and his father (George Arthur 'Art' Husband) had been RNVR temporary skippers in WWI (Art from 18th Feb 1915) and John from 2nd August 1918), and in WWII John was Temp Skipper of HMT Inchgower from 18th June 1940 to mid-1941, and then HMT Glatian (GY866) until his release on 1st Sept 1945. The photo is from WWI when he was serving on HMS Volonel (Minesweeper No 849, peacetime reg GY628).
